Welcome to GENA

About Us

The Galindo Neighborhood is a wonderful gem nestled in the heart of South Austin. The boundaries are Oltorf Street on the North, Ben White on the South, the Union Pacific Railway on the West and South First Street on the East.

The Galindo Elementary Neighborhood Association (GENA) represents residents and residential property owners within the Galindo Neighborhood.

The purpose of the Association is to seek to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood in matters such as land use, traffic control, social functions, environmental protection, public services, and other matters of neighborhood concern.

Community Meetings

Come Join Us!

Community meetings are open to everyone and free to attend.

These meetings are a great way to meet neighbors, share news and information, and participate in discussions on topics that impact the neighborhood.

We meet every other month in the heart of the neighborhood at South Austin Recreation Center, 1100 Cumberland Rd (see dates).

Neighbors gather at 6:45pm, and business starts at 7:00pm. We hope to see you there!

Membership

Support GENA

The Galindo Elementary Neighborhood Association is an entirely membership-driven volunteer organization, made up of a diverse group of individuals who love Galindo and want to see it continue to thrive.

Meetings are always free to attend and open to the public. Membership however is a great way to support GENA, and is required to be a voting member.

Membership in GENA is open to all residents and residential property owners within association boundaries for $20 per household per calendar year.

For questions about membership dues or to request a waiver, please contact treasurer@gena.org.
